Traffic & Non-Traffic Tickets
Traffic and Non-Traffic tickets are often given directly to you by a police officer during a traffic stop or at the scene of an incident but did you know the law says a ticket can be mailed to you instead?

Traffic tickets such as: speeding, failure to stop at a stop sign, expired registration, etc., are summary offenses, which means they are minor offenses. You have 10 days from the date the ticket was issued to respond with a plea of not guilty or guilty. After that, it's possible a driver's license suspension, and even a warrant will be issued. Only PennDOT controls the points assigned to each ticket. If you have questions about points, please contact
PennDOT at 1-800-932-4600.

Appeals from guilty pleas and/or findings of guilt are filed in the Clerk of Courts located at the Court of Common Pleas, 14 N Main ST, Chambersburg, PA 17201. If the case involves a license suspension, you will need to notify PennDOT of the appeal using this form.

Non-Traffic Ticket
Non-Traffic tickets such as: disorderly conduct, harassment, criminal trespass, public drunkenness, etc., are summary offenses, which means they are minor offenses. You have 15 days from the date the ticket was issued to respond with a plea of not guilty or guilty. After that, it's possible a warrant will be issued.
